Drawn to create from an early age, Chris Chubb is a self-taught painter and designer. His artistic spark was first ignited with drawing and painting. Receiving encouragement, he furthered his studies at the University of Southern California and Georgia Tech where he received his Bachelor of Architecture. As a professional architect for more than 20 years, his training and work provided a unique foundation for his art works. For Chris, each piece is a construction of elements intended to transport the viewer beyond the material plane, towards tranquility and contemplation.
In February 2023, Chris marked his first solo exhibition, titled Horizons, in downtown Tallahassee. In July 2023, Horizons traveled to Thomasville Georgia for Chris’ second solo exhibition at the WallSpace Gallery | Thomasville Center for the Arts. He also recently joined an esteemed group of juried international artists when his Quantum Reef sculpture was chosen to join the nation’s first Underwater Museum of Art (UMA). In the summer of 2023, Quantum Reef was deployed into the Gulf of Mexico 58 feet below the surface to join the UMA sculpture garden forming an artificial reef system off the coast of Grayton Beach State Park providing much-needed habitat for marine life.
A Thomasville, GA native, Chris and his wife live in Tallahassee, FL.
