Melissa Mercer Brown is a local coastal & landscape artist who lives in Walton county Florida where she feels privileged to express her creativity by painting the unique and natural beauty of the coastal area. She has lived in South Walton for 13 years and desires to capture the surrounding beauty in her paintings by bringing floral and fauna as subjects in her foreground. She often uses texture into her paintings bringing together rich organic colors and the natural shapes of land, water and sea. She gives workshops and is featured as the guest artist at the Henderson Beach Resort in Destin often throughout the year. In addition to her artwork, she is also the owner and a designer of a jewelry company called The Salty Sparrow. She is an active member and past board member of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. She is happily married with two children and donates her time, enthusiasm and energy in helping others through her artistic abilities.
