CAA Named 30A 10K Charity Partner
The Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) of Walton County has been selected as a charity partner for the 2024 30A 10K Thanksgiving Day races joining other benefiting organizations including It Takes the Town, Neurodiversity Resource of the Panhandle, and The Point Washington Medical Clinic.
The 30A 10K race is a 501c3 event whose mission is to raise funds for local non-profits as well as promote the spirit of healthy living and thankfulness as we come together to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
This year’s activities are scheduled for Thursday, November 28 in downtown Rosemary Beach with a 10K, 5K and 1 mile fun run. The race has been rated one of the top 10 Thanksgiving Day races in America by both Southern Living Magazine and Active.com. The fast and flat, scenic course route is designed for running enthusiasts looking for a great race to set a personal record or families that want to start a new, fun tradition on Thanksgiving Day morning. Registration is open at 30A10K.com and a sell-out is expected.
As a chosen charity partner of the 30A 10K, the CAA will receive a portion of the event proceeds which will help support the CAA’s ‘Art for All’ program. Through the ‘Art For All’ grant program, teachers, students, artists and arts organizations are able to regularly apply for funding through a bi-annual application process. To date, the CAA has awarded more than $845,000 in grant funding to support arts education, creative projects and further artistic endeavors impacting hundreds of thousands of Walton County residents and visitors annually helping the organization fulfill its mission to foster creativity through the inclusive and collaborative advancement of the Arts.
"Since its inception, the 30A 10K Thanksgiving Day Races have raised over $750,000 to directly benefit local charities and this would not be possible without our incredible participants, volunteers, and sponsors, said race director Melanie Cain. “This year we are thrilled to support the Cultural Arts Alliance! Their efforts to share the arts with people of all ages resonates with our joint commitment to serve our vibrant coastal community. I look forward to partnering with the CAA and for the race proceeds to enhance their Art for All Program to benefit Walton County students, teachers, schools, and artists!”
“It is an honor to be selected as a non-profit partner of the 30A 10K, and we are grateful for the support for and attention being given to the arts,” said CAA President & CEO Jennifer Steele. “The 30A 10K is one of our favorite events of the year, and we invite our friends, members and volunteers to either run the race or volunteer with us. There is a magical feeling of camaraderie that morning, and participating in the race in any way is a memorable way to begin Thanksgiving Day.“
