- Bailey Rathmann | Cultural Arts Alliance
Hello my name is Bailey Rathmann and I have a passion for art. My interest in art started when I was very young. I have always loved to paint since before I can even remember. I believe art has the capability to move people, provoke ideas, and invoke emotions in people. My art has many influences, some of which include: the environment, music, and life experiences. I create vibrant unique works of art. My works are done on a variety of mediums including canvas, upcycled clothing, vinyl records, vintage windows, and more. I have grown up in Destin, Florida my whole life so the environment has had a huge impact on the person I have become. By growing up on the beach, I understand the importance of maintaining the environment. Even minor conservation efforts can have an impact when done consistently. - Mary Redmann
Mary Redmann An artist her entire life, Mary Redmann remembers immortalizing her surroundings on canvas from the age of three. She finds inspiration for her abstract waterscapes and marbled creations from her travels, people, colors themselves, and mostly, nature. “I’ve always felt close to nature, and it’s one of the main things that I look forward to when I travel back to my native Sweden every summer”. After taking a hiatus from visual arts for a few years due to new priorities: three energetic blessings; finishing up a degree in business management; moving between Sweden, England, the U.S., and Japan; as well as many other changes, Mary picked up painting on a daily basis again about six years ago, after one of her closest friends introduced her to a process known as Vedic Art. This was a critical point in her evolution as an artist, where Mary transitioned from focusing mainly on creating a premeditated image to allowing herself to simply paint whatever came up in the moment, thereby learning to enjoy the journey of expression as much as the finished result. It was around this same time that Mary’s artistic style evolved from figurative to semi-abstract, a result of desiring a more unrestricted way of creating. Most of Mary’s pieces consist of numerous layers of resin and ink applied in a fluid, intuitive way, creating a multi-dimensional experience for the viewer. https://www.maryredmannart.com/ BACK TO EXHIBIT Button Button Button Button

- Joey McKenna
Joey McKenna We all find inspiration from different places. Joey (Josann, but please call her Joey) gets her inspiration from nature. Being lucky enough to bounce from the Emerald Coast of Florida to the mountains of Breckenridge, Colorado, she has a lot of incredible subject matter. She sees how light and shadow change across the mountains and the sand, depending on weather, time of day and time of year. She can look at the same peak or the same stretch of beach and every time she sees new shapes, new colors, and new inspiration. Not that she ever stays in one place for long— Joey has taken painting workshops and shot photography across the country and in Europe. She focuses primarily on watercolor painting, following in her architect/painter father’s footsteps, but also loves photography and trying new techniques. We hope you enjoy her work as much as she enjoys creating it https://www.joeymckennaart.com/ BACK TO EXHIBIT Button Button Button Button
- Lucinda Bunn
VIEW GALLERY ART Lucinda Bunn “I wish to bring joy to those who need it. And that is everyone.” Since her childhood living on the Long Island Sound in Larchmont, New York, Lucinda has always been a beach girl. While she began to love art at the age of five, she did not believe in her creative gifts until well into adulthood when a friend suggested that she create something beautiful for the world to enjoy, as a way to heal from depression. She began by painting happy furniture for children going into foster care. Over time, she began to play with happy, whimsical art on canvas, giving the paintbrush to her inner child to get the job done. Fast forward to 2020, Lucinda moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma to be in her bliss. Playing on the Emerald Coast shores of the Gulf of Mexico, where she paints and writes, alongside her roommate, Atlas the One Eyed Cat.

- Dorothea Berkhout
VIEW GALLERY ART Dorothea Berkhout With my Dutch heritage, my admiration for the Dutch master painters, and my interest in contrasts between shadow and light and highlighting objects to reflect the angle of light, my paintings exhibit a realistic approach and perspective. I prefer to paint with oils, as they provide me the ability to intensify my paintings and my subjects by layering the paint and increasing the perception of depth. I have a passion for nature, and I love to paint still life, scenery, and figures, enhancing natural and everyday objects. Having traveled nationally and internationally, my paintings render the beauty, balance, and order that I have seen and attempt to express from a variety of settings. Although I began painting at a young age, I turned my attention to music for many years, then academic pursuits, and I have now returned to painting again over the past few years. After spending most of my life in New Jersey, I have recently relocated to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, where I hope to be able to portray the local beauty with its vibrant light and colors in my future paintings and I now have the time to devote to further developing my technique. I appreciate the many opportunities in the Santa Rosa Beach area to interact with other artists and see their work, and I look forward to getting further engaged in the arts community here. Exhibitions in which my paintings have been featured: Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, Member Art Tent, Sandestin, FL (May 7 – 8, 2022) Estelle Studio and Gallery, Freeport, FL (November 2021 – present) “Festival of the Arts,” Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, Collaborative Art Tent, Destin, FL (October 2021) “Still Life and Landscape” exhibition, Princeton Academy of Art, Princeton, NJ, (2019) “New Brunswick Art Salon Part II: Watercolor and Mixed Media,” Alfa Art Gallery, New Brunswick, NJ (2018) “Women Live” exhibit, Hob-Art Cooperative Gallery, Hoboken, NJ, (2017) “New Brunswick Art Salon 2016: “L’Appel Du Vide,” Alfa Art Gallery, New Brunswick, NJ, (2016) https://www.dorotheaberkhout.com/
- Sarah Riley
Sarah Riley Sarah Riley is a painter/printmaker based in Wellfleet, Massachusetts and Seagrove Beach, Florida. She is Prof. Emeritus and former Art Department Chairperson and Head of Printmaking at Holland College of Arts and Media in Cape Girardeau, MO. Her book on mixed-media printmaking was published in the USA in January 2012 by A & C Black, London: Practical Mixed-Media Printmaking Techniques. She studied at Virginia Commonwealth University, the Tyler School of Art-Rome campus, the Societa Dante Alighieri in Florence, Italy, and the University of Missouri, Columbia. “I use images to commemorate and to juxtapose. Life is fragmented, sometimes chaotic. Mixed-imagery, mixed-media seem in keeping; mixing techniques: printmaking, digital art, drawing, photography and paint. Subject matter comes from literature, history (especially women’s history), memory, drawings and photos. My use of anomalous shapes and textures reinforces the suggestion of memories and re-imaginings in the work. My process of experimentation with color, varying techniques and layering accentuates the re-tellings.” https://www.sarahriley.art/ BACK TO EXHIBIT Button Button Button Button
