VIEW GALLERY ART Susan Julio Blue Jelly | Fused Glass | 19.5" x 19.5" $950.00 Mauve Seahorse | Fused Glass | 15" x 19" $850.00 Pink Jelly | Fused Glass | 12" x 15" $800.00 Vermillion Seahorse | Fused Glass | 9" x 29" $850.00 Hello, I’m Susan Julio—a fused glass artist and a recently retired art teacher. My journey in education began in 1984, and over the years, I have had the privilege of guiding countless students in their artistic endeavors. While it’s true that this makes me seasoned in age, it is my love for creativity that has kept my spirit youthful. I have always lived by the sea, whether near the ocean or by the bay. The vibrant colors and the ever-changing moods of the water have fascinated me for as long as I can remember - I’m captivated by the translucent and transparent hues that define the ocean landscape. This lifelong admiration found its perfect outlet when I discovered the medium of fused glass. Retirement from teaching was not an end but a beginning, allowing me to dive into my artistic practice with renewed passion. Fused glass gives me the opportunity to recreate the brilliant colors and forms of the marine life I cherish. In my studio, I hope to create art that reflects the beauty of the sea. Each piece is a celebration of the underwater world—an homage to the creatures and fluid shapes that inhabit it.
- Chulynda Castellanos
VIEW GALLERY ART Chulynda Castellanos Chulynda Castellanos (Sophie) is a self-taught intuitive artist based out of Panama City, Florida. Her mixed media artwork showcases vibrant and colorful scenes that often include sea life, geometric shapes, and ethereal aesthetics, inspired by her love for the sea. She has spent her whole life near the ocean, and even served in the Navy for 8 years. She found that the ocean has been the one thing consistent when challenges arise in her life, noting “the ocean is healing, just like art”. Chulynda has used the practice of creation using found objects from the sea the last ten years as a healing modality to process trauma and everyday emotions. In 2020, after the passing of her grandmother, Chulynda decided to focus on painting as a creative expression, and has spent very few days without a paint brush in her hand since then. https://salthippy.com/
- Pamela GaVette
VIEW GALLERY ART Pamela GaVette I was born at Fort Campbell, Kentucky on 20 March 1950 to an Army Military family so, early on, moving was a normal activity for an “Army Brat” like me. When I was six, our family moved to Bad Nauheim, Germany where Private Elvis Presley was also assigned which was exciting. Adding to that, summer vacations were spent touring world famous museums in France, Italy, Germany and adjoining countries, viewing work by Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Monet, and more. This early introduction to the great artists changed my life – I knew I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. From Germany, our family moved to Fort Rucker, Alabama and I finished school with a Masters in Secondary Education and a major/minor in Art from Troy University, Alabama. With my degree, I obtained a job working as an Arts and Crafts Instructor at Fort Rucker teaching painting, pottery, sculpture, jewelry making, and other assorted minor crafts such as basket making, stained glass, and leather crafts. After working for two years at the Fort Rucker Arts and Crafts Shop, I dreamed of revisiting Germany and all the exciting museums in Europe. I wanted to go overseas and started applying for employment in Germany working for the Department of Defense. I was selected for a job in Germany as an Arts and Crafts Director - thus began a long journey working for the Army and Air Force at Bases in Germany, Korea, Italy and the USA in Arts and Crafts Shops which included supervising sometimes 70 employees in areas of ceramics, photography, woodworking, auto crafts, framing, firing kilns, and safety for all small crafts areas, etc., (most of my employment was overseas, thus the experience of living in another country for 22 years). I retired after 32 years working for Department of Defense, and moved to Panama City Beach and continue to do artwork daily. I have taken several painting classes in the past few years and am living my dream of being a full time artist.
- Jenny Nix
VIEW GALLERY ART Jenny Nix In 2014, I was transported across the world to a place that I imagine may have taken a clue from heaven, beautiful Switzerland. Really hard things happened in this lovely slice of paradise. I helped a lady clean out her garage and she gave me some old paints, brushes, and little canvases. I painted over the gray. I had no idea what I was doing, but I needed the distraction. The art that I always felt I had in me just poured out of me. I dream about what I want to paint. I get pictures in my mind that I must share. Sometimes artists say they are self-taught. I’m not really taught at all, by myself or any other. I have realized now that the most important thing about being creative is the courage just to put it out there. So here it is, I hope you enjoy getting a little peek at what goes on in my head. https://www.jennyinswiss.com/

- Amber DeCicco
VIEW GALLERY ART Amber DeCicco Hi! I’m Amber DeCicco (pronounced “De-Chico”, in case you were wondering). As an artist and creative at heart, I am inspired by the world around me. Having lived and traveled all over the world, I create work inspired by my experiences in those places. The textures, shapes, light and colors around me provide endless inspiration for my artwork. Currently, I create artwork from my little studio in the home I share with my husband and child, as well as from my spot on my beach towel at the ocean’s edge. My artistic journey is all about embracing spontaneity. My watercolor paintings reflect a loose, fluid style that captures the essence of the places I’ve called home. Each of these pieces has a story, and often come together in sort of a magical way—watercolor painting is full of surprises and often cannot be repeated! These are a therapeutic outlet for me, I try to make a small painting a day, if only to de-stress. My cyanotypes invite you into a world where artistry meets science, where every aspect is a dance of precision and creativity. Drawing from my background in photography and graphic design, I approach each piece with intention. The journey begins with the thoughtful creation of negatives, a crucial foundation for what is to come. The application of chemicals to paper requires a steady hand and an artistic touch to achieve the raw, organic edges that you see in my pieces. Each print is a unique embrace of elements; the sunlight, the time of day, and even playful breezes play a part in sculpting the final piece. This delightful imperfection tells a story, intertwining my artistic vision with the ever-changing environment around us—all adding depth and personality to my work. Through these cyanotypes, I express not only my artistic intent but also the beauty found in unpredictability. Art, to me, is a playful journey where the process of creation is just as important as the final piece. I thrive on exploring new techniques and ideas, allowing my work to be both expressive and authentic. My hope is that through my art, viewers can pause, reflect, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us, sharing pieces of experiences that resonate within. https://www.amberdecicco.com/

- Pam Barnard
VIEW GALLERY ART Pam Barnard My husband and I relocated to Santa Rosa Beach in 2019. After spending 23 years in Chicago raising our two boys, we found ourselves empty nesters and finished with the cold blustery winters. We gave up gazing at Lake Michigan to gazing at the Gulf, roaming Seaside and discovering 30A. After receiving an engineering degree from the University of Missouri, I spent 17 years working for an Engineering Architectural Firm in St. Louis. I always had a love for painting and in my younger years mostly with Acrylics. I took a Watercolor class through the CAA in 2019 and fell in love with the technique. Later I studied with a local woman in Sandestin and from there developed my own style. I mostly enjoy painting beach scenes and local points of interest.
- Susan Lucas
VIEW GALLERY ART Susan Lucas A full-time resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida since 1999, Susan is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis. She has lived and traveled in many places in this country and internationally, which enriched her art through different teachers, traditions, and experiences. She studied art at Virginia Intermont College, East Tennessee State University, and with inspiring workshop Instructors. She continues to attend a Master Class in California annually. Susan is a professional artist, known for paintings with a contemporary edge and sophisticated color. Her work is in the tradition of the post-impressionists, with their interest in color and a semi-abstract landscape. Each work is inspired by experience or memory and seeks to condense and give visual form to the experience of place. Acrylic paints on canvas are her primary medium. The paint is applied in many layers to create rich color and a surface enriched with subtle changes of textures, lines, and values. Details emerge and are submerged. Each work is a dance between abstraction and representation, complexity and simplicity, the two-dimensional surface and the three-dimensional subject. Susan’s paintings are in galleries, homes, corporate, and university collections nationwide. She has exhibited and won awards in numerous regional and national shows. She is recognized as a significant regional artist, nationally as “one to watch,” and was the Beaches of South Walton Artist of the Year (2004). Her work has recently been featured in the books, Studio Visit (Volume 41, 2018) and The Best of Acrylic Painting (Acrylic Works 2019); in Southwest Art Magazine (Jurors Choice, January 2018 and February 2020). In addition to creating art, Susan serves as an art coach, acts as an arts advocate in the community, and juries art shows. Her work is represented by Leigh Truett Consulting, St. Simons Island GA; 1514 Home/In Design Interiors, Pensacola; Pinckney Simons Gallery. Beaufort, SC; Anne Hunter Galleries, Seaside FL and SoHo NYC; and at her studio/gallery (by appointment). https://susanlucasart.com
