  • Kathleen Broaderick

VIEW GALLERY ART Kathleen Broaderick Kathleen Broaderick has been a resident of the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida for the past 21 years but she began her artistic journey during her last semester at Florida State University as a Communications major. She decided to fill an extra elective slot in her schedule with a watercolor class and never looked back. After raising two children and teaching elementary school, she has turned her longtime passion into a career. Kathleen has been described as being able to perfectly seize the essence of the subjects in the painting. By boldly using color and light in her work, she brilliantly turns any subject into a personal, relatable piece to be appreciated by all. Instead of perfectly representing exact details and color of her subject, Kathleen paints to capture an impression and evoke deep and true emotions from within the viewer. In the summer of 2017, Kathleen opened CHROMA Studio & Gallery at 3925 W. County Hwy30A, in Santa Rosa Beach. CHROMA allows Kathleen to combine her personal art studio and love of teaching in one place. In October 2017, Kathleen was named South Walton’s Artist of the Year, representing the beautiful 30A area and all area artists. In December, 2020 Kathleen took her teaching online and introduced her first online painting course, “Essential Elements”. It teaches new and evolving painters the basic skills necessary to confidently create on their own.You can find more at https://chroma30a.com . https://chroma30a.com/

  • Patti Overholt

VIEW GALLERY ART Patti Overholt Originally trained as a portrait artist in St. Petersburg, Florida, I began to paint en Plein Air when I fell in love with North Florida after moving to Pensacola to finish my Art degree at the University of West Florida. I'm an Impressionist Painter with a Wabi Sabi aesthetic so I enjoy doing series such as my "Women With Attitude" (inspired by my friends and female relatives) and "The Beauty of Imperfection". Having taught Art from Middle School to College levels since 1971, I am currently giving private lessons in Studio de Relaxo, my studio and classroom in Choctaw Beach, FL., where I live on the bay with my husband, Garry, a cat and 2 dogs. My sincere hope is that something in my work will connect you to the joy of art, and living that is within you. https://pattioverholtart.com/

My journey in education began in 1984, and over the years, I have had the privilege of guiding countless students in their artistic endeavors. While it’s true that this makes me seasoned in age, it is my love for creativity that has kept my spirit youthful. I have always lived by the sea, whether near the ocean or by the bay. The vibrant colors and the ever-changing moods of the water have fascinated me for as long as I can remember - I’m captivated by the translucent and transparent hues that define the ocean landscape. This lifelong admiration found its perfect outlet when I discovered the medium of fused glass. Retirement from teaching was not an end but a beginning, allowing me to dive into my artistic practice with renewed passion. Fused glass gives me the opportunity to recreate the brilliant colors and forms of the marine life I cherish. In my studio, I hope to create art that reflects the beauty of the sea. Each piece is a celebration of the underwater world—an homage to the creatures and fluid shapes that inhabit it.

  • Robyn Martins | Cultural Arts Alliance

As a painter, Robyn Martins prefers to use oil and cold wax, which allows for a certain playfulness with texture and form. Her subjects are almost accidental, and she finishes each piece by creating a space she'd like to stand in, an abstract figure representing a strong woman she admires, or an object she finds beautiful. She also incorporates the work of favorite poets in many of her paintings, adding lines from Whitman, Hopkins, and Dickinson to the composition. Working from her home studio, Robyn is a recent transplant to Santa Rosa Beach, having moved here from Ohio where she exhibited in several shows.  Robyn Martins As a painter, Robyn Martins prefers to use oil and cold wax, which allows for a certain playfulness with texture and form. • Ginger Laughlin | Cultural Arts Alliance

I've always been an artist to the core. In my life, though I've had many careers and hobbies, I kept coming back to ART! It has been my joy and this is where I find my "happy place". Every day I evolve and discover more techniques and use of color. When people ask me how long it took me to create a painting, I answer all my life! All my life experiences and education have brought me to the place I am in my art! It's years of experience that have brought me to where I am. I love painting in oil, acrylic, and watercolor mediums. I can't get enough of creating something with bright, vibrant, joyful colors! Layering color is one of my favorite techniques that bring about a rich, complex painting that upon close inspection, the beauty underneath shines through. Art is like wine. It's very subjective. I like many styles of painting but have been influenced by Monet's impressionist style and the Old Masters' like Johannes Vermeer and Thomas Baker's use of luminosity in their paintings.
